A work of mine is going to take part in the upcoming Bologna show, by the end of this month. By the way, I am not alone – Two Israeli illustrators whose work I really love, are going to show their work in the exhibition: Natalie Pudalov and Orit Bergman.

The interesting thing about this project was that I tried to work with almost no preceding sketch at all, and if there was any, it was very rough. The result was more minimalistic, in terms of composition and color palette. Working without a highly rendered sketch helped me get rid of unnecessary stuff and leave only the essential. In a way, it was a purifying process.
Every artist knows that a very detailed sketch can be a limitation. I think this relates to the fact that the more there are guidelines in your life, the harder it is to find what is true for you.
